Musings
As I sit here on my duff, I often muse about the useless things in life that give me pleasure. The view of a mountain. Hawks on aged wooden fence posts. The sound of vodka sloshing in my crimson colored flask. Just being able to stay warm in a bed at night. Well, a bed isn’t necessarily useless, but it’s certainly not a thought that most people would stress in their everyday drudgery. I, myself, drive a wedge between my musings and my systemic life as best as I can in order to stay productive, but every so often I find that I just can’t help but let my mind wander. It might be a word or an image in one of my various curricular texts that sets my mind a flame with a wild fire of imagination. It might be a stubborn concept that keeps butting all the other thoughts out of my head like a stubborn ram. It might be, and most often is, sheer determined boredom, again taking the form of some stubborn farm animal, resting it’s bulk on the tracks for my train of thought. I really try sometimes to concentrate and keep my brain traveling to it’s destinations on time, but sometimes that cow on the rails is just far more enthralling than keeping on schedule on my way to certification city.
